How it works

How Duraventi works — and how we keep deals safe

Marketplaces should be straightforward. You find what you want, make a fair deal, and it shows up at your door. That’s the experience we’re building at Duraventi — simple enough to use in five minutes, thorough enough to trust with something that actually matters to you.

Heads up:Duraventi's payment, trade escrow, and protection features launch with the app. The sections below describe how the marketplace is designed to work. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you the moment it's live.

Buying and selling on Duraventi

  1. 1

    Create an account

One account covers everything: buying, selling, and trading. Sign up with your email, or use Apple, Google, or Facebook to get in faster. You’ll set up a public profile so other users know who they’re dealing with.

  2. 2

    List an item

Take a few photos, write a description, and set your price. Choose the condition honestly — it matters to buyers and it protects your reputation as a seller. If you’d rather trade than sell, toggle “Open to trades” and let buyers propose swaps.

  3. 3

    Buy, sell, or negotiate

Browse by category and condition. Message a seller with questions. Make an offer or propose a trade. Every conversation is tied to a specific listing, so context is never lost.

  4. 4

    Complete the deal safely

When the payment system launches, buying will hold your payment until you receive your item and confirm everything’s right. Once you confirm, the seller gets paid. If something goes wrong before then, we’re here to help resolve it.

  5. 5

    Build your reputation

Every completed deal builds your seller or buyer rating. Ratings are public and permanent — which means everyone on Duraventi has a reason to do right by the other person.

Trading

The trade difference

Most marketplaces treat everything as a cash transaction. Duraventi doesn't. Trades are a first-class feature — not a workaround.

A seller marks their listing “Open to trades.” A buyer who has something the seller might want proposes a swap. The two negotiate over message — maybe it's a straight trade, maybe there's a small cash difference to even things out — and when both agree, they ship their items to each other. Duraventi coordinates the process, holds any cash difference in escrow, and both parties confirm receipt before funds are released. It's the same protection as a standard sale, extended to cover the swap format.

Trade escrow is part of the full payment system launching with the app. In early access, trade conversations can begin — but the formal escrow flow arrives at launch.

Fees

Simple, honest pricing

8.75%

Selling fee on purchases

When an item sells, Duraventi takes a flat 8.75% platform fee on the sale. No listing fees, no monthly fees, no surprises — you only pay when you get paid.

Free

Trades are always free

Swap an item for another and Duraventi charges no fee on the trade. If a trade includes a cash difference, only standard payment processing applies to that portion — the trade itself is on us.

Trust & safety

Honest about what we are. Serious about protecting you.

Every marketplace has a trust problem. Sellers worry about chargebacks and scammers; buyers worry about fakes and no-shows. We built Duraventi to be different — not by making promises we can't keep, but by building the systems that make trust the default. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Buyer protection

Duraventi is designed to hold your payment securely until you confirm receipt, so sellers can’t access funds until you’re satisfied. If an item doesn’t arrive, arrives significantly different from the listing, or is clearly not as described, we’ll work with you to resolve it — including refunds on eligible purchases.

Seller protection

Sellers aren’t left exposed either. Funds are only released once delivery is confirmed, which means legitimate sellers get paid for legitimate sales — and disputed payments are reviewed fairly, not automatically resolved in favor of the buyer.

Authentication for high-value items

Some items warrant more scrutiny — a luxury handbag, high-end jewelry, a premium watch — categories where fakes are common and the stakes are high. Duraventi is building an authentication program for exactly these listings: a qualified expert reviews the item against established markers for its category — materials, hardware, stitching, serial numbers, date codes, and more.

A positive verdict significantly reduces the risk of a fake getting through. But we won’t tell you it’s infallible — no authentication system is. Expert judgment is not a guarantee of authenticity. What authentication does is raise the standard of verification far beyond what either party could reasonably do on their own. It’s offered as an add-on for high-value listings, not required for most transactions.

Community standards

Every listing is subject to our content policies. Prohibited items (see the Terms of Service) aren’t allowed. Sellers are expected to represent their items accurately; buyers are expected to communicate honestly and complete deals they’ve agreed to. Accounts that consistently behave badly are reviewed, and repeat violations result in suspension.

Reporting a problem

Something feel off? You can report any listing, message, or user directly from within the app, or by emailing thecurryco25@gmail.com. We review every report and follow up. We’re a small team, so responses may not be instant — but we take this seriously, and nothing goes ignored.
